Cognitive Engine ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your data when you use our platform.

Account Information: When you register via Google OAuth, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google.

Usage Data: Review sessions, card performance, XP, and streak data — used exclusively to power your learning engine.

Payment Information: Payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not store card details. See Razorpay's Privacy Policy.

Technical Data: Server logs, IP addresses, browser type, and device information for security.

• Provide and maintain the spaced-repetition learning service
• Personalise your study plan and analytics
• Process payments and manage subscriptions via Razorpay
• Send transactional emails (receipts, session reminders)
• Detect fraud and ensure platform security
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Razorpay: for payment processing
• Google: via OAuth for authentication
• Neon / Vercel: our infrastructure providers, under data processing agreements
• Law enforcement: only when legally required

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. To request deletion, email privacy@cognitiveengine.app. Data will be deleted within 30 days of a verified request.

We use session cookies via NextAuth.js to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies. Disabling cookies will prevent authentication.

We use TLS encryption, hashed credentials, and regular security audits. No system is completely secure.

Cognitive Engine is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
